RevoDx STI Pathogen PLUS Detection Kit

Sexually transmitted infections (STI) are a major cause of infertility, long-term disability, ectopic pregnancy, and premature birth. They increase the risk of developing genital cancers, and are a severe medical, social, and economic burden to thousands of adults and babies worldwide.

Several pathogens may cause STI ranging from bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. The delay in the diagnosis is one of the factors that justifies the difficulty to infections control. Many people with an STI have no signs or symptoms. You can feel healthy and not know that you have an STI. The only way to know if you have an STI is to get tested.

Strategies to increase screening and testing for STIs can assess people’s risk of getting an STI and help people with STIs get treatment, improving their health and making it less likely that STIs will spread to others. Getting treated for an STI other than HIV can help prevent complications from the STI but doesn’t prevent HIV from spreading.
